1 lb sausage Coarsely chop veggies. Clarify onion in oil. Level 12” dutch oven. Put pie shell on trivet in dutch oven. Add ¼ of the sausage mixture to pie shell and top with cheese. Add another ¼ of sausage mixture and top with cheese again. Mix 5 eggs and about 1/2 to 1 cup half and half. Beat slightly and gently pour over sausage mixture. Top with more cheese. Bake with 1 full ring top and bottom until done (about 45 min to 1 hour) It's done when a toothpick or fork comes out clean. Repeat for remaining ingredients. Recipe adapted by Neil Buso |
