Our third official DOG was held April 10, 2005 at Seabreeze Park in La
Porte, TX. A total of 35 were in attendance. Five families cooked in 12
ovens. The weather improved from last month but we still had a strong
breeze. Our menu this month included apricot glazed ham, corn casserole,
beef and vegetable in burgundy sauce, fiesta rice and sausage, honey whole
wheat bread, pineapple upside down cake, pineapple Dr. Pepper beans, cheesy
meat and potatoes, peach cobbler, drop biscuits, cowboy stew, and wild
berry cobbler. It must have all been good as there were no leftovers.
We did gain one more new member to bring our paid total to 8 families.
We had a short meeting after we packed up to announce Seabreeze as our
new chapter name.
Our next DOG that will be Saturday, May 21st, 10am to whenever at the
pavilion behind the Maxwell Center in Deer Park. This will be a brunch
DOG so plan your menu accordingly.
