Pow-Wow 2003
"This year's Fall Pow-Wow was one of the best in years," said Lodge Adviser Harry Thomson. The weather was the most outstanding attribute of the weekend. 70 degrees during the day, a little cooler in evening; just enough for our famous Ani-Lati evening campfire and clinic. Whit Becker, even roasted a "chicken on a stick" in honor of our reigning lodge flap for sixty years. "It was gone in like, 5 minutes dude!" he said.
The events were extravagant: the Field Sports Ranges were in full operation, bag pipe playing, blacksmith doing, venturer's were here from Dallas, a climbing rock was there, ham radios for "Jamboree-on-the-Air" were operational, a Lan-Party, an arcade game from Celebration Station, TP&W brought some critters, and the high point of the day, was a visit by 2 of the 21 Houston Rockets Power Dancers! "I got plenty of the pictures," said Nelson Carter. At the end of the Saturday Evening Show, there was a Vigil Call-out, where 3 Ani-Lati members were called out to be candidates for the Vigil Honor. Those members were: Whit Becker, Travis Wright, and Bill Wright. (Click here for information on Vigil Weekend 2003).
