Dear Arrowmen,
There are a lot of things coming up this month!  The Lodge Banquet is January 9th at 7:30 at the University of Houston Hilton.  That's Friday, roughly four days away.  I hope we can bring out as many Arrowmen as possible since we have a shot at the Ralph Rivera Native American Culture Award, and the Chapter of the Year award.  If anyone needs a ride to it, give me an e-mail and we'll try to find a solution.

Information on the Banquet is available at http://www.ani-lati.org/

Our next Chapter meeting is going to be held at St. James, as always, on January 11th; this Sunday.  Directions on how to get there are available at http://www.ani-lati.org in the "Chapter Meeting" box.  There will be a gigantic Native American Workshop there from 1-6 p.m. including: Bonnet Restoration, Beadwork, and Outfit Design and Restoration.  This way, we can get major craftwork done, watch some movies, and vedge out.  With all the Native American Folks being there, it would be a prime opportunity to work on Dance styles or Drumming.  Ceremony people will also be available.

At 6:00 our normal meeting will begin with a Dutch Oven Cook-off.  We encourage all troops to come on out with their best recipes to entire in the contest.  It's a great opportunity to get together and share cooking ideas between troops.  The winner gets the bragging rights until we have the contest again next year.  We'll all start eating around 8 and be done around 8:30 - 8:45.

With these two major events, it will be a great chance to start our 2004 year with a bang!  I hope to see everyone at the banquet and the chapter meeting.

Yours in the Order, Scouting, and Life,
